About the Paper

The Star Midweek and The Star Weekend are free broadsheet newspapers published Wednesday and Friday respectively. The newspaper is widely circulated and has been the informative voice for the people of Canterbury for more than 140 years.

The Star also publishes seven free community titles - The Pegasus Post, Observer, News Advertiser, Western News, Shore View, North Canterbury News and Selwyn Times. Between them, these weekly tabloid newspapers serve Christchurch and the surrounding rural communities.

The monthly Lifestyles magazine and Home Living are also part of The Star's family of newspapers.

The Star is committed to the community and supports a number of sporting codes and cultural activities. Furthermore, we organise events such as The Star City to Surf, The Star Home Show and The North Canterbury Home Show.
