Singing is in the genes for the Doig family.

Mother and daughter Rachel and Zara Doig took to the stage together at the weekend at Christmas in the Park to perform Deck the Halls.

Performing is nothing new for Rachel, whose father is well-known former tenor Chris Doig.

The professional opera singer and music teacher has sung previously at Christmas in the Park, although it is the first time performing for Zara and the first time the pair have sung together publicly.

Rachel is dedicated to her daughter's musical development. Twelve-year-old Zara attends Westburn School, where she is in the specialist music programme.

While singing is her main fous, she also plays the piano and the flute. Next year she will attend Burnside High School where she will continue with her specialist music training.
