Stephen Croft took all 10 wickets in his team's victory at the weekend.
Stephen Croft just missed a hat-trick in club cricket on Saturday ? and couldn't care less.
The 26-year-old finished the day with an even more remarkable feat, taking all 10 wickets in a Suburban fourth grade match at Nunweek Park in Christchurch.
Croft, a medium to fast swing bowler, took the 10 wickets for 30 runs as his Caledonian Experience team dismissed Glenbyre for 101 and went on to win by four wickets.
"I had to go away fishing at Napenape, so I got away with not shouting," he said. "But I would say there's a few beers owed!"
Croft, of Harewood, was on a hat-trick near the end of his stint.
"At the start of the 10th over, I needed two wickets off my final over, and got a wicket off the first ball. The batsman survived the hat-trick but I got him next ball lbw." Croft is very much a social cricketer.
"I'm a bit lazy on it," he said.
"It's my mate's team and I play every now and then. I didn't play at all last year, and this was only my second or third game this season because of a few injuries."
Croft's previous best bowling was six for 14.
