Reports of floor collapse in mall false

Reports of a collapsed mall in Riccarton have now been found to be incorrect. Mall management have said the mall substained minor damage but was open today.

It was earlier reported that the second storey floor of the Westfield Riccarton mall in Christchurch has collapsed in the aftermath of Saturday's earthquake. Reports of the collapse were posted on website Twitter. The mall has recently undergone an upgrade, with the second floor added. Stores on the floor that has collapsed include Country Road, Dick Smith, Sony, Hoyts Cinema and a foodcourt. Supermarket Pak n' Save at the other end of the mall was open today. No further information was available.
